Principal Robert Otani is Thornton Tomasetti’s special structures leader. Rob has more than 18 years of professional experience in the areas of structural design, project management, advanced computational design and modeling. He has worked on a variety of sports, commercial high-rise, infrastructure, aviation, cultural projects and structural art. Rob is a licensed professional engineer in New York as well as New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Alberta, Canada and a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Rutgers University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He teaches at Columbia University and Pratt Institute.
